Explosive claim: CIA targets Tucker Carlson as alleged Iran agent after warning of U.S.–Israel provocation
The journalist had expressed fears that Washington might even use a provocation with many victims inside the United States, in order to justify a military invasion of Iran.

In a time of war and intense geopolitical tensions, American journalist Tucker Carlson, once an ally of U.S. President Donald Trump and a figure within the MAGA movement, made serious accusations against the American government and intelligence services.
According to him, the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) is allegedly preparing a criminal case against him, attempting to label him a “foreign agent.”
Carlson’s statements are not limited to personal accusations.
The journalist also launched sharp criticism against the government of Donald Trump, expressing fears that Washington may even use a provocation with many victims inside the United States, in order to justify a military invasion of Iran.

Accusations of criminal prosecution and “foreign agent” label

In a recorded message he published on the social network X, Tucker Carlson revealed that he recently learned about a possible criminal process against him.
As he stated: “A few days ago I learned that the CIA is preparing some criminal case against me, a referral to the Department of Justice for an alleged crime that I supposedly committed.”
According to him, the basis of the accusations is the contacts he had with citizens of Iran before the start of hostilities between the two countries.
American authorities are reportedly examining whether these contacts could be considered a violation of the legislation on “foreign agents,” claiming that the journalist may have “acted on behalf of a foreign power.”
Carlson categorically rejected these accusations, emphasizing that he has nothing to hide.
“I have never taken money from anyone.
I do not need it, I do not want it, and I can prove it.
My job is to communicate with people around the world to understand what is happening,” he stated.
He described the case as legally unfounded and estimated that it is unlikely to ever reach a court.

Accusations of intimidation by American intelligence services

In the same message, Carlson argued that leaks of information about investigations against him in 2021 and 2023 were not accidental.
According to him, they were deliberately organized by circles within American intelligence services in order to intimidate him.
The reason, he claims, was his attempts to secure an interview with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Carlson suggests that American authorities are trying to prevent journalists from speaking with leaders of countries considered adversaries of Washington, something that raises serious questions about the state of press freedom in the United States.

Harsh criticism of U.S. policy toward Iran

Beyond the personal aspect of the case, Carlson strongly criticized the foreign policy of the United States, particularly regarding the escalation of the conflict with Iran.
In an interview with British journalist Piers Morgan, he argued that Washington is gradually losing control of the situation.
As he said: “Wars bring enormous and unpredictable changes.
When people start dying, things happen that you did not expect and cannot control.”
According to Carlson, a military conflict with Iran could cause serious damage not only to the Middle East but also to the United States itself.

Doubts about a U.S. victory

Carlson also expressed serious doubts about whether the United States can achieve a clear and decisive victory in a war with Iran.
Iran is considered one of the most militarily powerful countries in the region, with an extensive network of allies and paramilitary organizations in the Middle East.
A large scale conflict could lead to long term destabilization, while also significantly burdening American society and economy.

Warning about a possible provocation

In a video he published on his YouTube channel on 13 March, Carlson made an even more serious claim.
According to him, there is a risk that a provocation could be organized in the United States, even a terrorist attack with a large number of victims, in order to create political justification for an invasion of Iran.
The journalist argued that air raids alone are not sufficient for regime change in Tehran.
To achieve such an outcome, a ground invasion with the deployment of American troops would be required.
And to justify such an operation, it would require, as he claimed, an event similar to the attacks of 11 September.

Rift between Trump and Carlson

Carlson’s public statements have clearly created tension in his relationship with Donald Trump.
At the beginning of March, the American president stated that Carlson is no longer part of the Make America Great Again (MAGA) political movement, due to his strong criticism of the military operation against Iran.
According to a report by The New York Times, Carlson had repeatedly tried to prevent Trump from becoming involved in a military conflict with Iran.
The report states that the journalist visited the White House several times a month to persuade the president not to proceed with a military operation.
The last discussion between the two took place on 23 February.
After the meeting, Carlson reportedly told associates that Trump appeared ready to participate in military operations against Iran.

Huge question about the quality of democracy in the United States

The Carlson case opens a broader discussion about the role of intelligence services, freedom of the press, and the limits of political power in the United States.
Critics of the American government argue that accusations of “foreign agents” can easily be used as a tool of political pressure against journalists or political opponents.
On the other hand, the growing tension with Iran creates a dangerous international environment, where misinformation, covert operations, and geopolitical conflicts could lead to decisions with unpredictable consequences.
In any case, the public confrontation between one of the most well known American journalists and the American government is another sign of the deep political polarization that characterizes the United States today.
